How much does a custom food truck cost?
Most Biz On Wheels custom food trucks and trailers range from about $40,000 to $150,000, depending on the size of the truck or trailer, the commercial kitchen equipment, the generator, and whether it is a cooking or non-cooking unit. Concession trailers and non-cooking units usually land at the lower end of that range. Every build is priced individually based on your menu, equipment list, and power requirements. We provide a detailed estimate before any money changes hands.
How long does it take to build a food truck or trailer?
Most custom food trucks and trailers take 8 to 12 weeks from deposit to delivery. Simpler concession trailer builds can be completed faster. Do you ship food trucks and trailers nationwide?
Yes. Biz On Wheels is based in Charlotte, NC, but we deliver custom food trucks and concession trailers to customers across all 50 states. Customers can arrange commercial transport or pick up their unit directly from our Charlotte facility.
What is the difference between a food truck and a concession trailer?
A food truck is a self-contained vehicle — it drives itself. A concession trailer is towed by a separate vehicle. Trailers are generally less expensive to build and maintain, and they offer more interior space for the money. Food trucks are more mobile and easier to park in urban locations. We build both equally well and will recommend the right option based on your menu, budget, and where you plan to operate.
Will my food truck or trailer pass health and fire inspections?
That is exactly how we design every build. Before we fabricate anything, we plan the hood ventilation, fire suppression system, gas line sizing, water capacity, and electrical load to meet health department and fire code requirements. We use commercial-grade certified equipment (NSF, ETL, UL where applicable). Most of our units pass inspection on the first visit.

Do you use pre-made templates or cookie-cutter layouts?
No. Every build starts from scratch based on your specific menu, equipment, and workflow. We do not sell prebuilt shells or adapt a standard layout to your needs. We design around your equipment list and service flow first — then build the truck or trailer to match.

What are your payment terms and warranty?
We ask for 50% down to start your build and the remaining 50% on completion. Every build comes with a 1-year warranty.
