Biz On Wheels built this Jamaican food concession trailer, model BOW17874P, with a 17ft kitchen and a 4ft screened porch. The porch gives the owners an outdoor cooking and prep area that is protected from insects, ideal for grilling and smoking alongside the kitchen.
Dimensions and Screened Porch
The trailer measures 17ft long, 8.5ft wide and 7ft high, with a 4ft screened porch at the rear. Dual 5,500 lb axles with electric brakes handle towing, and all lighting is LED.
Power and Climate Control
A quiet Honda gas generator is installed in a cage on a slide-out. A 15,000 BTU A/C unit keeps the interior kitchen comfortable.
Serving Window and Exterior
A serving window with an awning door provides a shaded service counter, and the entry door includes a screen. The white exterior is finished with a full-body 3M graphic wrap.
Kitchen, Ventilation and Sinks
The interior is fully anodized aluminum with aluminum tread diamond plate flooring. A stainless steel hood system with an exhaust fan ventilates the cooking line. A three-compartment sink and hand washing sink meet health requirements, and two 100 lb LP tanks supply propane. All equipment is commercial-grade stainless steel and NSF certified, and the trailer is NSF, ETL and UL certified.
Who This Build Is For
A trailer with a screened porch suits Jamaican, Caribbean and BBQ concepts that grill or smoke outdoors. The porch keeps the grill area protected while the enclosed kitchen handles prep, sides and service.
Customizing a Build Like This
Every Biz On Wheels trailer is manufactured from the frame up and built to order, so this layout can be changed to fit your menu and towing vehicle. Common options include trailer length (from 8ft up to 28ft and beyond), axle ratings, screened or open porches, generator size or inverter battery systems, serving window sizes, hood length, refrigeration and cooking equipment, and full or partial wraps. Trailers are built to NSF, ETL and UL standards to simplify permitting. Most custom builds take about 60 to 90 days depending on the job.
