Biz On Wheels built this custom frozen yogurt self-serve truck on a new 20ft cargo step van. Instead of a traditional serving counter, the truck is set up so customers can access four soft serve machines through an awning door, creating a self-serve frozen yogurt experience on wheels.
Four Self-Serve Soft Serve Machines
The heart of this build is a bank of four soft serve machines installed with access through an awning door on the side of the truck. When the door is open, customers can serve themselves from the machines, which makes the truck well suited to busy events, campuses and parties where speed matters. A separate custom-made serving window with its own awning door handles payment and toppings.
30KW Generator and Heavy-Duty Cooling
Running four soft serve machines takes serious power, so the truck is equipped with a quiet 30KW diesel generator fed by an 18-gallon diesel tank. Two 30,000 BTU A/C units keep the interior cool, which helps the machines perform consistently on hot days.
Interior, Sinks and Equipment
The interior is finished in aluminum with aluminum tread brite diamond plate flooring for durability and traction. A three-compartment sink and a hand washing sink meet health department requirements, and all equipment is commercial-grade premium stainless steel and NSF certified.
Full-Body Graphic Wrap
A full-body graphic wrap turns the 20ft step van into a bright, eye-catching frozen yogurt truck that customers can spot from a distance, helping draw lines at every stop.
Who This Build Is For
A self-serve frozen yogurt truck suits dessert brands, campus dining and event companies that want fast, high-volume service. Letting customers pull their own yogurt reduces staffing needs and keeps lines moving at large events.
Customizing a Build Like This
Every Biz On Wheels food truck is custom built to order, so a truck like this can be adapted to your menu, crew size and budget. Common changes include the step van length (from 12ft up to 22ft), generator size and fuel type, the number and size of serving windows, cooking and refrigeration equipment, awnings, TV menu displays and the wrap design. Each build uses commercial NSF-certified equipment and is laid out to meet local health and fire codes. Most custom builds take about 60 to 90 days depending on the job.
