Biz On Wheels built this new 16ft cargo step van for Trillium Food Bank, creating a mobile unit that can bring food, drinks and coffee into the community. The truck includes TRUE refrigeration, a commercial coffee machine with water filtration, a sound system and a large awning door with a marquee.
New 16ft Step Van
The 16ft cargo step van is large enough to carry refrigerated and frozen food plus serving equipment, while still easy to drive into neighborhoods, community centers and event sites.
Power and Climate Control
A Cummins Onan quiet under-mount 7KW gas generator supplies power for refrigeration, the coffee machine and lighting. A 15,000 BTU A/C unit keeps the interior comfortable for volunteers and staff.
Custom Serving Windows and Marquee
Custom-sized openings include two serving windows and a display window under a large awning door with a marquee, creating a shaded, welcoming area where people can pick up food and information.
TRUE Refrigeration
A TRUE T19 reach-in refrigerator, a TRUE T19 reach-in freezer and a TRUE drink cooler keep perishable food, frozen items and beverages at safe temperatures during distribution.
Coffee Station and Water System
A commercial coffee machine is supplied by a 30-gallon water tank with a water filtration system, allowing the team to serve hot coffee at events. Water tanks include a level gauge system for accurate monitoring.
Interior, Sinks and Sound
The interior is finished in anodized aluminum with aluminum tread brite diamond plate flooring and an anti-slip red mat. Stainless NSF countertop tables and wall shelving provide storage and work space, and a one-compartment sink and hand washing sink are installed. A Bluetooth sound system with a wireless microphone and four speakers supports announcements and outreach. A rear entry door with a screen and fold-down step and a full-body graphic wrap complete the build.
