This 16ft x 8.5ft mobile kitchen, model BOW1687, was built by Biz On Wheels for a UNC college dining program. Riding on Torflex axles with an 11KW diesel generator, two A/C units and an all-stainless steel kitchen, it lets the campus team serve students wherever they gather.
Dimensions and Chassis
The trailer measures 16ft long, 8.5ft wide and 7ft high. Dual 5,000 lb Torflex axles with electric brakes provide a smooth ride, and all lighting is LED.
Power and Climate Control
A quiet 11KW diesel generator supplies dependable power for the kitchen, and two 15,000 BTU A/C units keep the interior comfortable for staff.
Serving Window and Entry
A serving window with an awning door provides a shaded counter for students. The entry door has a screen and slide-out steps for safe access.
Stainless Steel Kitchen
The interior is finished entirely in stainless steel with aluminum tread diamond plate flooring. A stainless steel hood system with an exhaust fan ensures proper airflow, and all equipment is premium commercial-grade stainless steel and NSF certified.
Sinks and Propane
A three-compartment sink and hand washing sink meet health requirements, and one 100 lb LP tank is housed in a back compartment.
Campus Branding
The white trailer is finished with a full-body 3M graphic wrap in the college’s branding. A mobile kitchen like this helps campus dining reach residence halls, athletic events and outdoor gatherings without building a new fixed location.
